Sun Valley Jazz Festival Artists

Listen to many styles of music at the festival, including: Traditional Jazz, Contemporary Jazz, Swing, Big Band, Zydeco, Gypsy Jazz, Blues and more.

Bill Allred’s Classic Jazz Band: In late 1989, Bill Allred’s Classic Jazz Band was born with the mission to find, research, and play some of the almost forgotten arrangements of the early jazz bands. What an exciting project! Their new sounds and combinations result in some very unusual treatments of old and new jazz material. This band is full of talented players with rich musical histories, including the leader Bill, whose father played jazz on the Mississippi steamboats.

Big Bang Jazz Band: Incorporating elements from early New Orleans jazz, Dixieland and the hot music of the ’20s and ’30s, variety is the name of the game for these young and highly energetic musicians. The band is adept at playing both sweet and steamy tunes. The Big Bang Jazz Band makes everybody excited about Dixieland jazz.

Charity Wine Auction in Sun Valley, Idaho

July 7th, 2012 by katie

For 30 years the Sun Valley Center Wine Auction has stood out as one of the premier summer events in the resort community of Sun Valley Idaho. It started in 1981, after the Center’s founder Glenn Janss visited her vintner friends in Napa Valley for their first charity wine auction. Jass loved the event and transplanted the idea to Sun Valley, Idaho.

From humble beginnings as an afternoon event in someone’s backyard, the auction has evolved into a fun-filled, three-day celebration of wine and the arts, enjoyed by locals and visitors.

Wine Spectator magazine has frequently ranked it as one of the top 10 charity wine auctions in the country.

Where does the Wine Auction take place?

Most of the occurrences, including the main event – the auction and gala – take place at the Dollar Mountain Lodge in Ketchum, Idaho. However, this weekend-long celebration features events all over town. Check out the Sun Valley Center for the Arts wine auction website for a full schedule of events.

What kind of events are being held and when?
